Treating Wildlife with
Homeopathy
• Besides
using homeopathy on beloved pets, wildlife rehabilitators are also looking into
alternative treatment for wild animals.
• Increasingly,
wildlife rehabilitators are looking at acupuncture, herbs, flower essences, and
homeopathy as their options in treating sick and injured animals.
• Easy
to administer. Pellets may be mixed into their drinking water or given orally.
• Affordable!
• Safe
and more effective than toxin drugs.
• Stimulates
the animal’s own healing energies.
• Non-toxic!
Case #1: Saw Whet Owl
• A
saw whet owl was brought into a wildlife rehabilitation center. It was hit by a
car and the left eye was hemorrhaging internally. The rehabilitator gave
Aconite 1M to ease the owl’s fears and shock of the accident.
• Arnica
1M was given afterward to stimulate the healing progress. There was noticeable
improvement in 2 hours.
But the left eye was still full of blood. The rehabilitator
picked out the following rubrics:
• Eye
injuries, intraocular hemorrhage, eye closing, head injuries, and general
injuries.
• She
gave the owl Lachesis 200C. The eye noticeably improved in 3 hours and the owl
fully recovered in 5 days.
• Indiana’s
main complaint was a severe bone infection, an advanced fungal infection called
nasal aspergillosis. Indiana was in extreme pain and was on $800 dollars worth
of medication per month.
• The
vet urged the owners to euthanize Indiana but the owners wanted to try
homeopathy.
• The
homeopath took the case and picked rubrics based on the following symptoms:
• Head
pain
• Ulcerated
nostrils
• Yellow/foul
odorous nasal discharge
• Exostosis
of facial bone
• <
cold weather
• The
homeopath gave Indiana Aurum metallicum 30C. The symptoms resolved in the next
few months, with occasional repeating of the 30C before finally moving up to
200C.
No more swelling!
Case #3: Colicky Horse
• The
owner noticed his horse was not eating and there was no stool in his stall, an
unusual sign.
• The
horse would lie down or roll, making the owner wonder if he had colic.
• Bubbly
sounds coming from the horse’s stomach convinced the owner the horse was
suffering from colic, and hoping a walk would lessen the horse’s discomfort,
the owner began to walk the horse. There was visual muscular cramping.
• The
owner gave a capful of Colocynthis 200C. Within 3 minutes the horse passed a
large pile of manure and began walking better.
• But
after 20 minutes the horse began slowing down and the owner gave another dose.
• After
the dose, the horse began drinking water and no further symptoms were observed.
Beaver with prolapsed rectum
• A
young beaver was brought into a wildlife rehab center, he was dehydrated,
emaciated, and had terrible matted fur. Tests showed it had parasites and he
was given a dewormer.
• The
beaver stabilized, but had diarrhea with a terrible odor and walked unsteady,
as if he was dizzy.
• The
rehabilitator then noticed the beaver had a prolapsed rectum, it protruded 2”
out.
• She
gave Podophyllum 200C based on the fact the beaver would roll his head back and
forth, and seemed worse from motion.
• She
gave the first dose at 11PM, by 3 AM the rectum was only protruding out by 1”.
• Another
dose was given at 6AM and by 9AM the rectum was no longer protruding. The
diarrhea and vertigo stopped as well.
• The
beaver was kept for a few more months until he grew to full size and was
released back into the wild.
• Sir
Fancy had an anal gland rupture. By the time I noticed it the abscess had
already burst. I gave Silica 30C in his drinking water for about 2 days to make
sure it all came out, and then Calcarica Sulphurica 30C for the next 3 days.
The abscess cleared up with no issue.
• For a few days Sparky was trembling, walked in a zig zag way, and lost his balancet. He was dull, drowsy, and didn’t eat nor drink much. He was also timid and easily excitable.
• I
gave him Gelsemium 30C in his drinking water for 3 days. Within a week, he
began walking fine, the trembling went away, and thunderstorms/loud noises
don’t scare him as much (this improved by 80%!). He is still doing very well!
A Wonderful Healing System for
Animal. As you can see, Homeopathy is safe and effective on animals:
from small to large and from domestic to wild. It is a great way to help heal
our animal friends!
