MOTHER TINCTURE ~ a substance that is taken from a plant, animal or mineral being processed by tirturation then becoming the starting material mixed with alcohol or water, succussed to become part of the remedy from which potency's are made.

The Yasgur's dictionary also mentions that this tincture may also be used therapeutically in material doses (drop doses), either internally or topically.

One of my classmates Dani, took this photograph the day we studied the Remedy "Calendula officinalis", also known as Pot Marigold.  This flower is tirturated into a liquid form to make one of the best natural first aid remedies.  It can be used in a remedy form taken orally but is also made into a cream, ointment and or sunburn lotion.
